Vene Elisabeth Lavertu (Weimann), 68, of Tamworth NH, passed away at her home on December 11, 2022, with her husband and children by her side.
She was born to Kurt and Margarete Weimann on April 18th, 1954, in Keene, NH. She enjoyed a happy childhood growing up in southern NH. Some of her fondest memories as a child was going to Germany each year to visit family, traveling on the boat, the Queen Mary II. She graduated high school in 1972, the same year she got engaged to her future husband Dana M. Lavertu. She married Dana in a double wedding with her sister, Anita, who married Dana’s fraternal twin brother, Darcy on May 26th, 1973. They moved to Sanford, Maine where they raised their four beautiful children. She was an accomplished homemaker who loved finding “a great deal”, skills she taught and passed on to her children. She worked part time as a school bus driver for 13 years, and before retiring she enjoyed her jobs at Emery Mills Energy and Eastern Oil & Propane. Her interests included sewing, cross stitching, jig-saw puzzles, and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Vene was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in 1969 and was an active member of her congregation. She spent much of her life sharing her faith with others. Part of that faith included her Bible based hope of a resurrection to perfect life and health on a paradise earth. A hope that gave her comfort in her final days.
She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Dana M. Lavertu, Sr. Her children, Ericka Shaw (and her husband John) of Lowell, MA. Anna-Lynn Pelotte (and her husband Jason) of Rochester, NH, Nichole (Nikki) Pearson (and her husband Jason) of North Billerica, MA and her only son, Dana M. Lavertu Jr, (DJ) (and his wife Kaitlyn) of Tamworth, NH. As well as her 3 granddaughters, whom she deeply loved, Kaemi Lavertu, Kaebri Lavertu, and Remy Pelotte. She is also survived by her only sister Anita Lavertu (and husband Darcy) of Acton, ME.
