Obituary for Stuart T. Hall

Stuart Tuthill Hall was born in Kenmore, New York to parents Corinne and Lester Hall. He graduated from Pembroke High School in Massachusetts. After college, Stuart met Ruth, whom he married and had two daughters, Deborah and Sandra. He heard the news of Deborah’s birth while on board the U.S.S. Charles S. Sperry, a naval destroyer. He was very proud.
While on board, he was able to save a fellow seaman from drowning in the Pacific, and earned the Navy’s highest honor. After Ruth died, Stuart met Karen. They married and moved to Maine, where they spent 24 happy years together. Stuart loved nature, and spent hours watching the birds in the feeders from his deck in Newfield. His dog Dasher was always at his side, as well as his two cats. Stuart liked to work with his hands and could create anything from stained glass to furniture. He sandblasted glasses for the Society of Mayflower Descendants, of which he was a member for years. He was a past Governor General of the Maine Society. He belonged to the Old Colony Club in Plymouth, MA, the Masons, and the Tin Can Sailors. Stuart was a kind, caring man who loved his family and people in general. He will be cherished always. Stuart passed away on February 18th, 2023 at 93 years old. Private services will be held in the spring.
