Obituary for Paul J. Tebbetts

March 3, 1943 - April 29, 2022 Service Date: A Graveside Service will be held at a later date. Paul J. Tebbetts, 79 years of Waterboro, passed away on April 29, 2022 at his home with his family. Paul was born March 3, 1943, in Sanford, the son of Arthur Tebbetts and Eva (Parent) Tebbetts. He attended Sanford Schools and began working at a young age to help support his family. He told stories of how he loved spending time on his grandfather’s farm tending to the horses and barn. He started his own successful business as a general contractor and was known for going out of his way to help someone in need regardless of their ability to pay. He built many homes in town and believed in paying it forward. Paul enjoyed spending winters in Florida, living on Ossipee Lake, boating and cookouts with family and friends, country fairs, horse pulling and his dogs Abigail and Half-pint. He would say “If you want a true friend get a dog.” He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. If he knew the kids were coming over, he would put lollipops in his garden and would say “Papa you grew lollipops in your garden” he would smile. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Eva Tebbetts, four sisters, Elaine Tebbetts, Mary Jane Bourque, Joyce Croteau and Irene Fagan; three brothers, Raymond, Richard and Roy and granddaughter Amanda Tardiff. Paul is survived by his daughter Kelly Woodworth and her husband Roddy, his son Douglas Tardiff and his partner Lisa, and Joanne Woodsome and husband Dan. Paul is also survived by his former wife, Donna Tebbetts and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We love you so much DAD/PAPA. A graveside service will be held at a later date. Should friends desire, donations in Paul’s memory can be made to the Animal Welfare Society, PO Box 43, West Kennebunk, ME 04094. Arrangements are in care of Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, 47 Oak St., Alfred, ME.
