Obituary: Ladd Charles Meyerhoff
Dateline - Lyman, ME

Ladd Charles Meyerhoff, 56, a resident of Lyman, died peacefully on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

Ladd was born in Sanford, Maine on March 15, 1967, the son of Lester and Kay (Drown)
Meyerhoff. Ladd was raised in Sanford until six years of age when his family moved to Gray.
As a youngster, he enjoyed watching his dad race at Oxford Plains Speedway and became a fan of Tony Stewart and NASCAR.

Ladd loved animals, participated in 4-H Club, and raised sheep. He would show his sheep at the Cumberland Fair. He enjoyed camping and canoeing with his grandfather. Ladd was strong, willing to help anyone in need and was a good neighbor. He graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School, followed by taking some classes at the University of Florida and rooted for the Florida Gators.

Ladd was super smart, and he knew it! Though his demeanor was on the reserved side, his mind was always working.

He met and married Janet LaChance and they share 23 years of marriage. They spent their honeymoon at Atlantic City in New Jersey and enjoyed their New Year’s Eve watching the Ball drop in New York City.

Ladd ran Meyerhoff Installation, installing hardwood floors and carpets for many years.

Upon his diagnosis of cancer, he went on a two-week trip up the coast of Maine, where he took in the natural beauty of New England.

He has been reunited with his father, Lester and his maternal grandparents, Lawrence and Hazel Drown.

Ladd is survived by his wife Janet (LaChance) Meyerhoff of Lyman; mother, Kay Meyerhoff of Shapleigh, ME; and a sister, Nancy Robertson. Also, by his son Dylan Meyerhoff and two stepdaughters, Danielle Mendes, and Jennifer Collins and six granddaughters and soon to be born his grandson; and two nieces Kelsey and Olivia Meyerhoff.
