Jim “Moe” Levasseur passed away on January 20, 2023 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House after a brief illness.
Jim was born September 25, 1947, to Paul and Jeannette (Lizotte) Levasseur in Sanford. He grew up in Springvale, attended Sanford schools and served in the U S Army in Viet Nam. He returned home and married Casandra Prefontaine, also of Sanford, and they eventually built a home in Acton, Maine.
He enjoyed life in the country which gave him opportunities to hunt, fish and garden. Never one to throw anything away, he liked collecting things and always said “You never know when you might need it.” He also had many friends, most of whom called him “Moe”. When he was not visiting them, they would often stop by, especially in recent years when he wasn’t getting around so easily. His family is grateful to those who checked up him and helped when he needed it.
Jim was predeceased by his parents. He’s survived by his wife of 52 years, Casandra, his daughter Tracey and her partner Jay Carter of Shapleigh, his brother Raymond and his wife Jamila of Waldo and several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Online condolences and tributes may be shared in Jim’s Book of Memories at www.bibbersautumngreen.com
A private service will be held in the spring.
Arrangements are entrusted to Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, 47 Oak St., in Alfred.
