Obituary for Gregory J. Lee

Gregory John Lee, 75, passed just shy of his 76th birthday on July 4, 2022.

Gregory was born in Portland on July 7, 1946, the son of John Gregory and Rosie Belle (Woods) Lee.
He grew up in Westbrook, Maine and went to high school at Cheverus. Later, he joined the U. S. Air Force, obtaining the rank of Captain and married his first wife along with deploying to Vietnam.

Following his time in the Air Force, Greg had his son Brook Lee and was honorably discharged from military service. He met and married his second wife upon returning to Maine where he settled back in Westbrook. During this time, he worked for the postal billing company, Pitney Bowes, and raised his family.

Greg was always involved in the community and served on town committees. He loved the outdoors and had a strong passion for hunting, fishing, shooting, riding his four-wheeler, and golf. Greg had many friends in the community and from his outdoor activities. He was a friend who you could always find something to do with. He loved to say that he “had the most toys,” to support his hobbies and was an exceptional storyteller who could entertain anyone with the vivid details of his adventures.

Greg later moved to Biddeford for a time and then finally settled in North Waterboro. He stayed active in his community and neighborhood and was liked and loved by many. He was the neighbor who could fix or repair about anything and would run an extension cord to a friend’s house to give them power when a winter storm had taken down the power lines.

Greg was also very passionate about his dogs. He loved Shadow his Black Lab and Old Yeller his Golden Retriever and involved them in many of his adventures.

Gregory Lee was a great man who had a significant impact on all those around him. He will be deeply missed.
Gregory is survived by his son Brook Lee and wife Christina and their two children, Peyton, and Grace, his three sisters: Sandy Willand, Becky Adams and Joanne Eldridge and many nieces and nephews.
