Obituary for Gary Patrick Cote

WATERBORO
Gary Patrick Cote, 64, of Waterboro, passed away suddenly at his home Thursday evening, August 11, 2022, after watching his beloved Red Sox beat the Baltimore Orioles.

Gary was born May 31, 1958, in Sanford, the son of Joseph Alfred and Jeanne M. Bannister Cote, and is a graduate of Sanford High School. He went on to earn his certification as a CNA, which was work that he thoroughly enjoyed.

While employed as a CNA with Varney Crossing in North Berwick, he met his future wife, Joanna. They worked together for many years before Gary’s illness forced his early retirement.
More recently, Gary and Joanna were caretakers of their church property, Little House of Hope and Prayer in Waterboro, where they loved to worship their Lord and Savior. He loved to follow his Red Sox, play cribbage, and most importantly, was the best Pepere and spent time with his grandchildren.

Gary is predeceased by a brother Jimmy Cote.

Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Joanna (Junkins) Cote of Waterboro, who he called his “Rosebud,” a daughter Brooke Cote and fiancé Cory McGee, two sons Anthony Cote and Jeffrey Cote, all of Sanford, two grandsons Nathan Cote and Wesley McGee, and his siblings Roger Cote (Becky) Jane Gagne all of Sanford, Lisa Kienia (Bill) of Greenbush, and Donna Michaud of Bangor.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held at a later date and announced by Bibber Memorial at Autumn Green, Alfred.
