Obituary for Eileen Theresa Zelmanow

WATERBORO – Eileen Theresa Zelmanow, 54, formerly Eileen Theresa Purvis, passed away suddenly at her home in Waterboro with her loving husband at her side.

Eileen was born August 8, 1967 in Teaneck, New Jersey, the daughter of Ernest Purvis and Dolores Moran. She was raised in New Jersey and later in Bangor, Maine where she attended school.

She was employed for many years at Maine Medical Center, and most recently with Maine Health Partners Turning Point Cardiac Rehabilitation and Prevention, retiring early due to her failing health.

Eileen loved cruising the lake with her husband on their boat to fish and watch the sunset, making jewelry and watercolor paintings, tending to her vegetable and flower gardens, cooking and catering, being Zoe’s “GiGi”, gem hunting, the paranormal, baking wonderful edibles for everyone, and just simply hanging out with her friends and having a good laugh.

Survivors include her husband Edward L. Zelmanow of Waterboro, her son George “Taj” Purvis, four siblings; Margaret Calderwood, Heather Batey, Ernest "Rusty" Purvis, and Jessica Purvis, her granddaughter Zoe Purvis, and Uncle George "Buddy" Moran and Aunt Janet Moran.

Services will be private.
