Obituary for Dana Frederic Burridge
Dana Frederic Burridge, 83, of Limerick, ME passed away July 22, 2022. He was born March 24, 1939 in Marblehead, MA to Herbert and Clara Burridge.
Dana graduated from Marblehead High School. He went on to own and operate his own paving business and then served as the Marblehead Road Commissioner until his retirement. He married Frances McLanahan in 1976. They moved to Limerick where they bought land and built Piper Ridge Horse Farm in 1987, which is still in operation. He enjoyed maintaining the property and splitting wood. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Marblehead for almost 60 years.
Dana was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, JoAnn Lamieux; previous wife, Dorothea Burridge; and brother, Herbert Burridge. He is survived by his wife, Frances Burridge of Limerick, ME; son, Jeffrey Burridge of Waterboro, ME; granddaughter, Melissa Lamieux and her husband, Keith Aucoin of Hollis, ME; grandson, Jason Porter of South Berwick, ME; and great-granddaughter, Rowan of South Berwick, ME.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dana’s name to Maine State Society for the Protection of Animals, 279 River Rd., P.O. Box 10, South Windham, ME 04082.
Visiting hours will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2022 at Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak St., Alfred, ME 04002. A cemetery service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Dr., Marblehead, MA 01945 followed by a celebration of Dana’s life at the Masonic Temple, 62 Pleasant St., #7, Marblehead, MA 01945.
A good husband is a man who is honest, hardworking, handy, healthy, financially responsible, and makes you laugh. Dana checked all of those boxes, until the health part took him from us. Thank you Dana for the 46 years we shared. Your loving wife, Frannie.
