Obituary for Carolyn F. Polazzi

Carolyn F. Polazzi, 72, passed peacefully on January 8, 2023, in the hands of the “special angels” at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.

She was born on December 27, 1950 in York, Maine the daughter of Joseph and Jean (Kimball) Polazzi.
Carolyn was a 1969 graduate of Sacopee Valley High School. Carolyn always had a heart for all animals, especially birds and horses. She enjoyed the companionship of her dog Travis and cat MoJo -they were her “fur babies.”

Caroyln was a dedicated employee and began babysitting for area children and worked at the Parsonsfield School in the hot lunch program. She also was employed at Vulcan Electric and for Waban Projects but found her true calling as a CRMA at the Newton Center and the Pavilion, both in Sanford.

Caroyln had shared many interests with her longtime companion, Dale Hamilton of Alfred. They took day trips to local beaches including Wells Beach and visiting Nubble Light in York. Many memories were made on the Mt. Washington Cruises on Lake Winnipesaukee in the Lakes Region area of NH and exploring White Lake. Closer to home she and Dale went about the Songo River Queen II on Long Lake in Naples. She enjoyed camping and cooking over an open fire and being out and about in the outdoors. A favorite trip in the fall was driving along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire.

Caroyln had many friends and she visited with Lee, Patty, and Denise often. She watched Jeopardy each night, the news, and the Discovery Channel. She was content to be in her home and watching the birds and chipmunks trying to get some of the bird seeds. Carolyn was a talented seamstress, enjoyed knitting and doing needlepoint. She loved trying out new restaurants.

Carolyn had battled cancer for seven years. Her life was not measured by her treatments and challenges of appointments and chemo. She was strong willed, maintained a healthy sense of humor and still put the needs of others before her own. Carolyn has gone to her eternal home to rest.

I am home in Heaven, dear ones;
Oh, so happy and so bright!

There is perfect joy and beauty
In this everlasting light.

All the pain and grief is over,
Every restless tossing passed;

I am now at peace forever,
Safely home in Heaven at last.

She is survived by her daughter Michelle Fibbi, four grandchildren and companion Dale Hamilton. She was predeceased by her daughter Heather Hasty.

There will be no formal services. Her wishes were to return to earth, wind and seas.

Online condolences and tributes may be shared at Carolyn’s Book of Memories www.bibbersautumngreen.com

Carolyn
She came to earth to visit me
With a heartfelt warning breeze
I observed a mist which carried Carolyn's face
Now that is what I Believe
Then she pecked me on the right cheek so softly
To assure me she would be alright
And then the mist just went away as Quick as it came
Back to Heaven on her Winged Celestial
Flight
